Operation: Winter's Tail (K-12)

In cooperation with Hanger Clinic Learn about the chemical, biological, physical, or mathematical processes behind the most famous tail in the world as we walk step by step through the Hanger Clinic's process as they created a tail for an orphaned dolphin injured in a crab trap line. From geometric design to the physics of water, this program is customized to meet different learning levels based on Sunshine State Standard benchmarks.

Life Cycle Stories (K-5)

Discover Florida's fascinating native animals and their life cycle stories. We will examine up-close the life cycle of a Loggerhead sea turtle hatchling, using real skulls and shells to exemplify size. Then meet and greet some other Florida natives when we are joined by crawling critters of the deep for a private touch tank session.

Tracking Hurricane Leroy (4-8)

Unlock the secrets of our atmosphere as we discuss tropical storms and hurricanes from how they form to the destruction they can bring. We'll focus on hurricane formation and tracking as your students transform into mini-meteorologists, watching over Hurricane Leroy. Finish up with a walk through our Hurricane Experience and feel hurricane-force winds in this movie-themed simulator.

Water Quality (6-12)

How does chemistry affect biology? We'll share the importance of daily water quality testing for the resident animals at Clearwater Marine Aquarium. Students will be able to apply what they have learned by performing real laboratory tests alongside our water quality team and learning about the abiotic factors that provide necessary life support for our rescued and rehabilitated animals.

Renewable Resources (6-12)

What does it really mean to reduce, reuse, and recycle? Together, we explore the science and math of Earth's renewable resources and what sustainable energy truly means. We will work together as scientists to reduce our carbon footprint by creating a renewable energy device and testing the efficiency of our inventive new solution.

NON-EDUCATIONAL GROUPS: Advance reservations are required.

EDUCATIONAL GROUPS: We ask that for the self-guided portion teachers break their students into groups of 10 or less and provide 1 chaperone per group.
