Making Waves Speaker Series

Join us the third Thursday of each month from 6:30pm to 8:00pm for our FREE speaker series.  Clearwater Marine Aquarium invites content experts from local colleges, research facilities, and state environmental agencies to present on various marine topics. Presentations take place in Clearwater Marine Aquarium’s Bright House Theater.

August 21, 2014 - Robert Hardy, Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission
Hardy will present on sea turtle hatchings, and other marine species found within the drifting Sargassum of the Gulf of Mexico.

September 18, 2014 - Dr. Michael Middlebrooks, University of Tampa
Dr. Middlebrooks will discuss his research with photosynthetic sea slugs and how photosynthetic activity affects their behavior and ecological interactions.

October 16, 2014 - Dr. Heather Masonjones, University of Tampa
Dr. Masonjones will discuss her research concerning the behavioral ecology and reproductive physiology of sea horses and related fish.

 

November 20, 2014 - Dr. Michael Walsh, Clearwater Marine Aquarium Veterinarian
